Located 203 km (126 miles) from Muscat Wadi Bani Khalid is an oasis of deep blue waters in the desert which make it as one of the most famous wadis in the Sultanate. A short walk takes you to large emerald pools and a narrow zigzagging canyon filled with giant white boulders.
Wahiba Sands is an ocean of regular dunes that seem to stretch out endlessly rising up to 200m in ever-changing patterns and colors as the winds direction change and the sun angles varies during the day.

This wonderful journey starts by picking you up from your hotel and depart early from Muscat heading towards the Sharqiya region. On the way we can make photo short stops upon your wish. It takes about 2 hours to reach Wahiba Sands Desert from Muscat.
We drive off-road and see stretches after stretches of pure sand and endless towering sand dunes. Here you will get to appreciate and experience the real feel and magic of the Omani desert. We have the chance to visit a traditional beduin house where we can try Omani coffee and dates (depending on availability).
In the afternoon we move on towards Wadi Bani Khalid which is a desert paradise in the middle of the sweltering sands. It just about 5 to 10 minutes easy walk from the parking to the first large pool and if you continue walking carefully you will get to the second system of pools.
The peaceful cool turquoise water make swimming in the pools unforgettable experience, however for those who wont to swim just put your feet it and enjoy a spa session with schools of fish massaging your foot. The place is so grand that you can even have the chance to walk deeper right into the wadi itself or maybe visit its hidden caves. When everyone get satisfied with this desert adventure we drive back to Muscat.
